Curiositystream is a scam

I do not know what happened but my they tried to take money out my old CC after 5 MONTHS of not using it. Luckily it was my old was so it had no money but I there are people who still use the same CC and might get money stolen. They removed the cancel button too so no stopping it.
If you dont want to be scammed then dont subscribe to curiositystream.

The history section is VERY Eurocentric

I'm most interested in the history sections in the website. They have quality content, their content quality is not up to discussion.
HOWEVER, the vast majority of the content is focusing on European events/empires/culture as if the world is only Europe. They also tell the story from the European narrative most of the time which is not always a fair way to tell a story, every story has 2 sides. I understand that of course the "other side" may have not recorded the events but the Europeans did, but in most of the cases both sides record the events but Curiosity Stream just takes the European one.
I hope in the near future CS start to care about the non-European empires/countries/cultures and their narratives. Maybe also dub and translate the content to other languages.
In short, It's a good platform and the value-for-money is amazing, but they are focusing on a very narrow demography. I reckon this might be one of the best platforms for a European, but for me, a non-European, I think it's just 'k'.

Thought this would be a great…

Thought this would be a great experience, it wasn’t!!!
They never could get it to work on my top of the line Samsung. All that happened was a lot of back and forth withe me doing most of the work.
Finally called to cancel, they tried to continue with trying to fix it, and only would refund when I threatened to cancel the transaction thru the bank. Not holding my breath yet until I see the refund.

I've been watching lots of…

I've been watching lots of documentaries for the past couple months, CuriosityStream do have quite a bit of interesting one. But a lot of them has just 2-3 series, wish it could be longer and more in-depth. Other than that, everything is good, price is cheap.

Easy enrollment, and streaming is easy to start with.

'Not available in your country'

Finally, I see something that I would like to watch on CuriosityStream advertised on YouTube. But no, I get the 'Not available in your country' message.
Other advertised content has not even come up in the search. Seriously, what is the point? Has all the budget been spent on advertising so that there is nothing left for decent content?

Did not deliver promised goods; support doesn't answer emails

Their sign up pages are broken and rob you of Nebula access, which I and others paid for but did not receive. (Wrong coupon code is applied). Support has ignored my emails. A robot replied to me, which they try to pass off as a human. Robot was useless of course.

I had a strange situation

I had a strange situation, someone was using my computer to order this and give gift cards. So there were three subscriptions that were not authorized by me personally. But some companies would have been more difficult. CuriosityStream canceled all three subscriptions (reimbursing me ) I am impressed with the customer service, back-and-forth emails, and the result. I am recommending CuriosityStream to lots of people , Especially now that they’re having a sale. And I will buy one myself

I was a bit nervous but…

After seeing all the bad reviews I was a bit hesitant to sign up but since curiosityStream and Nebula is being endorsed by so many, in my eyes trustworthy, YouTube creators so I did it anyway.
So far I have not had a single problem. In many of the bad reviews it said that there was no response from support but I wrote to the support and askedWhat would happen if I cancelled my annual plan. Would I lose access immediately or until next billing period? along with a couple of other questions.
At first you get a reply from a support bot but in the email there is a button that you can press to get the email redirected to a real human. I did that and within three business days I got a real usable reply. So I have nothing to complain about there.
Of course I have no idea if they simply ignore emails from people who got charged twice on their credit card but I think it's highly unlikely when the platform is being endorsed so heavily on YouTube and they have over 13 million paying subscribers.
A great experience so far.
(I will of course update this review if any anything changes)

Fraudulently Charging People through Third Parties

I am not even sure who these people are, but they charged my CC. I sent them an email, and an AI bot replied that they would check with their account team to see if they could issue it, but said they could not if it was charged through a 3rd party. What?! I guess they can charge whoever they wish through third parties with impunity.
Curiosity Stream, clean up your act. I lot of people are down on you. Stop fraudulently charging people. Life is hard enough without you making life harder! Good grief.
